- Choose one or more PDFs or use the local confidential sample, then preview every page and protect signed documents only from an unsigned copy
- Generate or enter a strong confirmed opening password; a separate permissions password can control printing, changes, and copying in standards-compliant readers
- Encrypt AES-256 document content and metadata, choose individual or batch output names, and keep passwords out of reports and downloads
- Download only after every PDF rejects a wrong password, accepts the right one, reports AES-256, preserves every page, renders correctly, and matches the requested permission flags
Short-lived by design
This tool uses open-source processors in a private temporary workspace that is deleted after each attempt. When durable storage is available, uploads are encrypted and resumable and checked results stay recoverable to this browser for up to six hours. If that storage is unavailable, the same-origin fallback returns the checked result directly. Failed or cancelled job files are removed immediately. Account storage is used only when you explicitly choose Save to Bookify.
